Our First Study of the Year! God's Commandments

Ahhh! It is officially a New Year, and we are finally picking up on our monthly Bible study. This year will be quite interesting as far as our Bible studies are concerned. I heard a few ladies on Instagram mention their interest in going deep with Bible study this year. Now I would like to make everyone aware that this year will be quite different. The format and topics will be different. Over the past few months, the Lord has been revealing some hidden understanding in the Bible to me and hubby. It has been a very intense, high pressure but very enlightening experience. The verse that comes to mind that best describes my feelings towards this process is : " And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32.

Resources:

You will be pleased to hear that the resources for this study is simple.

  1. You will need a KJV Bible. I will explain why a KJV Bible on a later blog. But for now, a KJV Bible is the closest true translator to the true word of God and a lot of the other Bible versions are not completely accurate and are somewhat misleading. if you live in the United States, visit your local Dollar Tree store, they have them for just a dollar.
  2. You will need the study questions below
  3. You will need a note book or a journal to write on
  4. Also I will be posting a video on my YouTube at JoyfullyOsato regarding this topic.
Introduction:

In our modern day churches, we sometimes hear pastors preaching to their congregation that we are not under God's laws and we no longer keep His commandments. This teaching is completely misleading and I am sad to say that this teaching is destructive. If you are reading this, I am forced to believe that we all have access to a Bible and can find truth for ourselves. Now, some of these preachers, and pastors are simply just repeating something they have been taught over the years. A lot of these preachers are also speaking from Apostle Paul's epistles. Here is what Peter had to say regarding Paul's letters : "And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto youAs also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. " 2 Peter 3:15-16
Now, I bring this up, not to condemn Apostle Paul's epistles but to make you aware that it is hard to understand, and because of this, those that are unlearned will stumble unto their own destruction. Jesus Christ is our ultimate savior and He is God made manifest in flesh. Jesus came to walk on earth to teach us to walk in God's Commandments.
