The book of James was a letter written to the Jewish Christians who had
been scattered throughout the Mediterranean world because of persecution. James
was Jesus’ half-brother and a leader in the Jerusalem church. James wrote this
letter to expose hypocritical practices and to teach right Christian behavior.
It is not enough to talk about the Christian faith but we must actually live
it. The proof of our Christian faith is a genuine change in our lifestyle,
decisions and actions. As Christians we are called to be more like Christ, but
too often Christians are great at putting on a mask on Sunday while
contradicting the gospel for the rest of the week. James wants believers to put
their Christian faith to action, not compromising with the world but allowing
the renewing of our minds to transform us. “What good is it, dear brothers and
sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that
kind of faith save anyone?” James 2:14

The book of James emphasizes on faith in action. Faith is more than
a word, but an action and call to live out our Christian faith by righteous living.
We are called to serve with compassion, love for one another, speak lovingly,
and honestly, and to live in obedience to God’s commandments. We are called to
bring Heaven to earth by teaching and bringing more people to Christ. If we
claim to love God and believe the Word of God, we ought to live a Holy and
consecrated life for God. We shouldn’t read the Bible like any other novel but
we must apply it as our way of life.

With the holidays approaching, I would like to introduce our new prayer and study journal. This journal will accompany your studies each month as well as motivate your prayer life.
You may also search for this HERE
And grab one for hubby too- the male version that is.
Last month, I moved unexpectedly back to the east coast and I was unable to do as much updates as I wanted to for the book of Matthew, but by God's grace this month is much settled and I plan on updating daily or as much as possible.
I will also like to suggest you form small groups of 4 to 5 girls in your area, get together once a week to discuss the study.
Remember to pray before each study and ask the Holy Spirit to guide and see you through it.
Be blessed.
With love ---Joyfully Osato
